CANCELLATION POLICY

The following applies in the event that (you) the Student/Participant cannot complete the previously chosen and pre-registered class and/or workshop. The following also applies to any and all classes, workshops, or privates offered by Kennedy Brown. We hope by implementing this cancellation policy, we can give students the freedom to adjust their schedule while simultaneously allowing sufficient time to refill the now-vacated place in the class. Please read the following carefully. The cancellation policy refers to any and all reasons for missing workshops and/or classes including illness, family emergencies, and booking work. WORKSHOP CANCELLATION POLICY

If you, the Student, choose not to participate or if you are unable to participate in the chosen Workshop, you must notify Kennedy Brown or the KBS Program Director, 7 days (1 Week) prior to the start date of the Workshop to receive a refund. All Refunds are subject to a 2-3% processing fee.

Less than 7 Days

If Kennedy Brown or the KBS Program Director is notified in less than 7 days of the Workshop that you are unable to attend, No Refund will be available. However, your funds will be saved and allocated toward a future Workshop or Class.

In the case of a Family emergency or Medical Emergency, a 50% refund will be issued. (Professional-Non-Industry Related and/or Personal conflicts are not applicable)

Family Emergency includes Loss of child care, injury, illness, or death of a family member. Medical Emergency includes bodily injury or severe illness including contracting Covid-19. A Doctor’s note and/or appropriate documents such as test results must be provided for the refund to be issued.

48 Hours or Less

If you notify Kennedy Brown, or the KBS Program Director, within 48 hours or less of the Workshop Start Date that you are unable to attend, No Refund will be issued and No Class Credit Allocation of your Funds unless your absence specifically relates to a Family Emergency or Medical Emergency. 

In the case of a Family emergency or Medical Emergency, a 50% class credit will be issued. (Professional-Non-Industry Related and/or Personal conflicts are not applicable)

Family Emergency includes Loss of child care, injury, illness, or death of a family member. Medical Emergency includes bodily injury or severe illness including contracting Covid-19. A Doctor’s note and/or appropriate documents such as test results must be provided in order for class credit to be approved.

If You Book a Job

In the case of booking a job or gig that conflicts with the workshop, the following applies. Notification of leave of class prior to the workshop will result in class credit. 

Notification must be given at least 5-7 days before the workshop in order to receive full class credit. 

Notification must be given 48 hours or less before the workshop in order to receive a 50% class credit. 

Notification given once the workshop is already in session will result in an adjusted Class Credit based on how many days are left in the workshop. Or the number of days that will be missed. Please note: Class Credit will only be issued in the case of a full withdrawal from the workshop, not single-day absences. (Please see Missed Workshop Days)

Missed Workshop Days

If you are unable to attend multiple or individual days of the workshop due to illness, a family emergency, or booking a job, you’ll be allowed to make up any days missed. For any missed classes you must contact Kennedy or the KBS Program Director 24 hours before the scheduled class and the absence must be excused.  For an excused absence, you will need to contact the KBS Program Director to schedule the makeup class.

Class Credit (Applies to Workshops)

Class Credit is good for up to one year from the issue date.

No refunds will be granted once class credit has been issued.

If you have more than one Class Credit. They may be combined and applied to any classes or workshops except for 1-Day Workshops.

Once a class or workshop is dropped and class credit has been issued, you may only apply your class credit to one additional class or workshop. If you register for a class or workshop using class credit and drop that class or workshop, your class credit will be canceled.
